The Energy used to Power Your Car is not the Only Place you can Make a Positive Impact on Our Environment
The world is shifting (no pun intended) to a more environmentally conscious mindset. Much of this is being driven (last one, Is wear...) by the automotive industry as it tries to adapt to the changing environmental climate by reducing CO2 emissions and converting from gasoline powered vehicles to hybrids and all electric vehicles.
At Enviro Tech, we applaud these positive changes, but we also believe that this mindset should trickle down to less obvious things such as what chemicals you put into your vehicle or what you use to work on it.
Small Changes can make a HUGE Impact
We created our EvergreeN Windshield Washer Fluid line of 100% plant derived, environmentally friendly, non toxic and biodegradable windshield washer fluids to replace conventional windshield washer fluid. It may be a small thing, but consider that billions of gallons of washer fluid are sprayed onto our windshields and into the environment every single year.
Most of these contain toxic chemicals such as methanol. Methanol is used to lower the freezing point and if ingested can lead to blindness. Furthermore, it has been shown to attack pavement and contribute to the premature degradation of our streets and highways. We've all been stuck in traffic due to the seemingly neverending cycle of repair. If we could reduce the amount of repair required of roads, we could reduce the amount of time we spend in our cars. If the frequency of road repairs decreased by only 5%, we would save as much as 30 minutes a week of time spent in our cars just getting from Point A to Point B!
A Safer, Non Hazardous and Eco Friendly Windshield Washer Solution Exists
EvergreeN Windshield Washer Fluid is available in both Summer and Winter formulations and is 100% derived from naturally occurring plant-based compounds. The Summer Formula will not attack the pavement, is non toxic and is totally methanol free. Best of all, it is a solution to a problem that many people may not recognize but certainly does exist. The Winter Formula is unfortunately not 100% Methanol Free at this time, however our chemists are working hard to improve the formula and eliminate methanol from it.
Unfortunately, in order to ensure the washer fluid does not freeze at winter temperatures, methanol is currently the only cost effective way of reducing the freezing point. However, what we have succeeded in doing is minimizing the amount of methanol required in the formula to such a low amount that our Winter Formula is actually the only winter windshield washer fluid available that is totally NON FLAMMABLE.
