EnSolv EX was formulated in response to a need for a safer granular and bituminous asphalt extraction solvent to trichloroethylene (TCE).  In July of 2005, AASHTO approved nPB solvents, such as EnSolv EX, for the extraction of bitumen from asphalt.  EnSolv EX also conforms to several ASTM standards, a few of which are listed below.

Today, many state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), shingle manufacturers, oil refineries and others who have used TCE in the past for extractions have easily and successfully switched to EnSolv EX.

 

The patented stabilizer package blended into the azeotropic EnSolv EX formula ensures that the solvent can be recovered and redistilled over and over again through numerous cycles beyond competing brands.  All this means EnSolv EX will last longer and provide for more efficient and more AQCCURATE extractions.
